Soccer - A Modern History

While soccer has been around in one form or another since the second century BC, getting its origins in China, modern soccer didn’t become an established and respected sport until much later. It wasn’t until the 1800s in fact, that an important development occurred, one that would make soccer an integral part of Universities, Colleges, and other schools. Many popular English colleges, (the country where modern soccer is said to originate) established a rigid set of rules that are today known as the Cambridge Rules. This new Football took two different approaches in the rules, branching off into two different versions. Some schools opted for older, rugby based rules that permitted things like carrying the ball, tripping, and kicking other players. The Cambridge Rules took a very different approach, allowing only the usage of feet, and little to no contact with your opponents.

In reality, the history of modern-day soccer officially started in 1863. It was then that eleven different representatives of English schools would meet in order to set up the base foundation of rules that would govern every match that took place form then on. What would emerge from this meeting is the formation of the Football Association. This would be the key moment that separated rugby from soccer, making them both distinctly different sports.

Once soccer became fully established in 1869, the Football Association then established that you were not allowed to touch the ball with your hands or carry it in any way. This gave birth finally, to the modern soccer that we know and love today.

How to Earn a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification

Six Sigma is an approach to business using statistics to improve and achieve quality control.  A Six Sigma Green Belt is the first level of certification in this approach to conducting business.  Earning a Six Sigma Green Belt can advance your career and improve organizations skills, making you a more valuable asset to any company you work for.

To become a Six Sigma Green Belt, you must be employed full time and spend some of your work time analyzing and solving quality issues and have the opportunity to set up and run a process improvement team.  A process improvement team is expected to help cultivate innovation and spontaneity while aiming to improve quality.

Other requirements involved to become a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt include having at least three years of work experience, involvement in quality improvement projects, demonstrating knowledge of Six Sigma tools.  Six Sigma tools include: identifying an improvement opportunity; measuring process performance, analyzing processes to determine poor performance, improving process performance by addressing core causes,  and controlling the improved process to affect future performance.

Turan Sahinkaya is an extremely motivated and determined individual who has had an immensely successful career thus far in the field of technology and business management.

Turan Sahinkaya is a technically sophisticated and business savvy management professional with strong team and interpersonal skills. Turan remained in that position for a number of years until being promoted again in 2010 to his current management position. He hopes to continue his rise through the company ranks for the next years to come.

Turan not only committed to his successful career in technology, but he is also deeply committed to being a valuable member of his community as well. In addition to the various charitable organizations that he regularly provides donations for, he also provides turkey, other food, blankets, and much needed supplies to homeless shelters on Thanksgiving. Turan Sahinkaya is committed to his career in the professional world as a leader and expert manager. He is currently serving AT & T as the Senior Manager in Mobility Product Management, a position that he has held since he was promoted in 2010.

Turan Sahinkaya has worked for the technology company since his employment in 2000 and has been quickly establishing himself as an essential member of the company’s management team. In 2000, he began his career with AT & T as the Senior Manager for the Ecommerce Pricing Group where he executed the Global Solutions Pricing function for the business to business subsidiary. In 2002, he was promoted to the position of Senior Manager of the Complex Pricing Group where he performed all departmental functions including the management of the pricing function for extensive, complex deals that involve custom products and services. Turan Sahinkaya received his education at the University of California at Berkeley where he not only coached youth soccer during the summer, but also played on the varsity team for three years. After achieving his undergraduate degree in Economics, he later achieved his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

 

Turan Sahinkaya - Community Service

Turan Sahinkaya has committed himself to serving his community with contributions of resources and time. He has worked tirelessly to organize a local event called the Memorial Hoop Night, a basketball tournament charity fundraiser near his home in Colleyville, Texas, where Sahinkaya lives with his wife Lori and their four boys. He volunteers his time to help organize the annual event and allow some of the youngsters in his community to have a fun basketball tournament while also raising money for the American Heart Association and local charities. He says that his community service work is his way of setting an example for his children and the surrounding area.

Turan Sahinkaya says that giving back to his community makes the world a better place and should be considered a vital part of a successful life. Sahinkaya makes a point of contributing any way he can to the needy in his community. In addition to his continuous community service work, Sahinkaya and his family also donate food, blankets and other items to the local homeless shelters in the Dallas/ Fort Worth area’s homeless shelter. Sahinkaya considers his charitable donations a large part of his community life and his success as a businessman.

Turan Sahinkaya - Textbook and Home Life

Turan Sahinkaya is a Senior Manager of AT&T’s Mobility Product Management, helping businesses stay on top of their complex finances. Sahinkaya has years of experience as a financial planner, business intelligence expert and analyst, and the Chief Executive Officer of Timeless Keepsakes, a company he founded that sells products for babies. In addition to this busy schedule, Sahinkaya finds time to support his community with many charitable donations and volunteerism. He has contributed time and resources to such worthy causes as the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure, the American Heart Association, and Goodwill.

Turan Sahinkaya is married to the renowned reporter and author Lori Sahinkaya. Lori recently won the Texas Woman of Influence Award for her work. They live with their four boys in Colleyville, Texas, just outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Turan gladly devotes his time to his family in addition to all of his other commitments.

Turan Sahinkaya will also contribute to a business textbook called “Energy Control.” Sahinkaya says that the book “implies reduction in energy consumption while producing work over a planned schedule subjected to physical and regulatory constraints.” Sahinkaya has developed a set of real-world exercises and work problems to the chapters. He has also focused on finding a publisher to help him market the work as a standard textbook for high schools. The book will be available first in California, and then, as Sahinkaya hopes, “in 49 other states and around the world.” Sahinkaya thinks that this contribution will help many young people develop good working habits and create better businesspeople for the future.
